Parkinson Lane Community Primary School
We provide Tuition for our eager learners in year 4 and year 5, who endeavor to achieve their full potential and hope to be offered a place at our local Grammar Schools. Mrs. R Babar runs these classes weekly during the academic year. Here are the following times both classes are run:-
Year 5 on Tuesdays at 3:15pm - 4:15pm
Year 4 on Wednesday at 3:15pm - 4:15pm
All children undergo an English written test (not Multiple Choice)
that will make up 35% of the total marks. Maths will contribute a
further 35% and Verbal Reasoning a mere 30%. There will also be a piece of writing which will test their ability to write in a variety of genres. All this - on top of getting those vital high scores in Maths and Verbal Reasoning!
Parents of candidates must make sure that they have registered for the admissions test before end of the summer holidays. They can register online on the school websites or by contacting the school direct.
Tuition class stretchers across three subjects. It is vital that students in year 5 hoping to take the Common Entrance Exam knuckle down and do extra work at home, seeking extra support if necessary.
We’ve give every child in the 11+ class a homework folder for extra practice, but they should also be reading widely, watching educational programs and writing for fun. A reading list of suggested titles is supplied.
