Parkinson Lane Community Primary School
At Parkinson Lane, we believe that all children including those identified as having special educational needs and/ or disabilities (SEND) have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum, which is accessible to them. All our teachers are teachers of pupils with SEND and are committed to making a difference. Our aim is to provide a caring and stimulating environment in which pupils have opportunities to achieve their full potential. We understand that high self-esteem and self-confidence are crucial to a child’s well-being. As a result, all pupils are supported with their social and emotional development throughout the day across the curriculum. We value the abilities and achievements of all our pupils and embrace a holistic approach to learning by offering a high quality of teaching across the curriculum based on the ‘Five-a day’ principles as evidenced in the Education Endowment Foundation’s (EEF) guidance report. We place a great importance on establishing close links between home and school so that we can work effectively together.
Our goal is to provide quality experiences in all aspects of school life so that pupils are happy, successful and keen to learn. Thus, helping them to grow into young, well- rounded individuals who are fulfilled and able to make a positive contribution to society.
This policy will be used to ensure that the funding that has been assigned by the Governing Body for special educational provision is clearly identified and used effectively for its intended purposes.
